The CCPD offers its resources and services to all students and alumni for life. Our staff is here to help students and alumni achieve their professional goals. We do this by offering information resources, one-to-one and group career coaching, networking events with peers and industry professionals, career development workshops, and more.
Professional Development Programs
In 2014/2015 the CCPD will present more than 80 professional development programs under the following categories.
- ACCESS: Access events include networking, recruiting, and on-site visits to industry workplaces that give participants direct access to people, conversations, and opportunities.
- CAREER PREP: Career Prep sessions are workshops, skill-shares, information sessions, and hands-on demonstrations to build and perfect your career skills, from writing your first résumé and acing an interview to making the most of your internship or on-campus jobs and mastering the art of networking.
- INSIDE TRACK INTO INDUSTRY: Inside Track into Industry includes panels, roundtable discussions, and networking opportunities that provide in-depth knowledge about an industry, so you can begin to see your skills and talents applied in new ways you may not yet imagine.
- LEADERSHIP AND INNOVATION: Leadership and Innovation programs will help you discover new ways of envisioning your career. Explore how to become your own boss; use meditation to deepen your creative practices; and interact with other leaders and innovators to inspire your own creative development.
Recruiting and Job Board
Each year, thousands of employers want to find the most talented Pratt students to hire them by posting thousands of professional and internship opportunities on Pratt's online job board, Pratt Pro. Students and alumni have completely free access to this resource. Simply to go student.prattpro.com and register your account if you don't already have one. The CCPD hosts numerous events where students and alumni can network with industry professionals and meet potential employers. In addition to career & opportunity fairs, individual employers like Apple, Nike, Sony, David Yurman, and others ask to make on-campus visits to present information sessions, review portfolios, recruit students and alumni, and conduct on-campus job interviews. The CCPD has built a collection of valuable resources on numerous career and professional development subjects. Our reference library and lounge contains over 200 books on topics ranging from creating resumes and portfolios to getting started with your own business, and covers the wide range of professional industries that Pratt prepares its graduates to enter. Visit us in East Building to use our reference materials; no appointment is necessary.
