Universal McCann Careers
Levo caught up with Divya Bahl, Senior Associate at Universal McCann, a global media agency with many well-known clients, during one of her coffee breaks in Madison Square Park. Bahl taps into her creative, collaborative, and analytical talents on a day-to-day basis to serve her clients’ needs. She has worked on many exciting brands and campaigns over the course of her career, including American Express’ Small Business Saturday. A native Washingtonian, Bahl now lives and works in New York City, but takes advantage of weekends to visit friends across the country.

Brief description of UM:
Universal McCann is a global media agency with many well-known clients.
Before working at UM where were you?
Prior to UM, I spent a little over two years at Digitas, working on American Express’ Small Business Saturday. Before that, I interned at Hill Holliday and CosmoGIRL.
Your personal style in a few words:
Classic, comfortable, and preppy.
Go-to outfit for meetings:
Usually my school boy blazer, a dress, and a pair of heels.
Office dress code:
Officially: business-casual. Unofficially: casual-preppy. At least my team is, so I fit in very well!
This is a tough question as my wardrobe has evolved a lot over the years and I struggle to identify a person whose style I’d like to emulate. Instinctually I’d say Jackie Kennedy or Kate Middleton because of their refined, polished taste. To have my style described in those adjectives is what I suppose I strive for!
A day as a senior associate at UM looks like:
Though no two days are alike, some constants are status with the client at 9:30 a.m., an abundance of checking emails, working with publishers to develop custom content and elements for a campaign, working with different teams to get campaigns implemented, pulling digital reporting, making optimizations, meeting with potential partners… the list goes on!
What are your key job responsibilities?
